Subway: Yea or Nay?

September 22, 2009 11:46 am · Posted by nancyeinhart

I'm no sandwich snob, so I'm not embarrassed to admit that I like Subway sandwiches. From high school through adulthood, they have gotten me through many late-night deadlines and road trips. I love the bread, the funny little cheese triangles, the oil and vinegar and olives — all of it!

According to recent news, Subway could soon have more stores than McDonald's. I know sandwich lovers who poo-poo Subway, and if given the choice, I'll eat at a local shop instead. But if the choice is between Subway and other fast food, I welcome the healthier sandwiches. What say you?

I have taken a solemn & holy vow never to eat Subway again under any circumstances.

So, no.

Subway is really the only fast food restaurant I frequent. Their veggie delight always does the quick sandwich trick for me.

I feel like it always smells like stale turkey air

I agree with Angelica. The veggie delight is just fine! And it's dirt cheap too!!!

I used to like Subway. Okay, to be perfectly honest, I still don't not-like-ish Subway. I will eat a veggie delight now and again when I'm in an airport and the only other option is St. Local Namesky Pub and their $12 soggy fish & chips. However, I do it begrudgingly because I still remember when I was in high school and they changed the (artistic) making process for the wonderful steak and cheese sandwich from scooping my steak from a vat of au jus, to using individually wrapped steak packets that were pre-portioned. It's a metaphor. If you think about it. Or just an example. But I digress. Subway...meh.

So sayeth the Andrew

Subway is gross. I refuse to eat there; it smells bad and all the meat and cheese is cut in the same shapes: squares, triangles, gross! It doesn't seem right!
