
Like chefs Tom Colicchio and Dennis Leary before him, Graham Elliot Bowles has a sandwich side project. Last fall, the Michelin-starred owner of Graham Elliot opened Grahamwich in downtown Chicago, so when I visited my peeps at PopSugar Chicago last week, we had our lunch meeting over sammies — or should I say "grahamies"? Though not as avant garde as No. 7 Sub, Grahamwich gives nostalgic favorites a modern, quirky twist. Click through to see what we ate.
My hometown now has a joint called Cupalicious, which features a rather unappetizing website but very appetizing sandwiches. Perhaps the fact that it's located in a suburban office strip proves they mean business. Between the Bread readers Hal and Laurie (creator of the Sloppy Jayne) recently snapped photos of their Cupalicious feast.

The deli sandwich with fries ($7.25, above) and chicken salad sandwich ($4, below) look Carnegie-esque in size, but for seriously less cash. I want one, weird website be damned.

I love both tuna and chicken salad, but I don't like any sweet stuff encroaching on my tuna. Chicken salad, on the other hand, is well-served by fruit and nuts. One of my favorite recipes is this curry-flavored version made with red grapes, green onions, and walnuts, which combine to make an exciting and exotic filling for Middle Eastern-style flatbreads or pita.
