Just a little grilled veggie goodness before I have to get to work on the Oscars coverage.

On the Phone: Cuban at Atlas
The pulled pork Cuban style at Atlas Cafe, happily drenched in mustard and melted with just-pickled cucumbers.
On the Phone: Weird and Wonderful Turkey
I promised myself I'd stop posting my boring old turkey sammitch lunches, but this one was such a surprise success: turkey and Swiss with fresh basil leaves, pumpkin butter, and sliced Bacon avocado gifted to me by Lauren. I forget how great basil is on sandwiches, and the pumpkin is a welcome change.
Hot Mess: Metro Chicken Cheesesteak
Another great sandwich joint in my old 'hood: the hole in the wall cheesesteak peddler Metro Caffe. Super spicy kick, balanced by creamy paths of cheese oozing through the shredded chicken.
Sometimes a hot mess can be a wonderful thing, and this sandwich is proof. As an added bonus, Metro makes amazing onion rings (you can always bite clean through them!) and tater tots. Yes, tater tots.
On the Phone: Onion Frittata at 'Wichcraft
time. The sharp cheddar and roasted tomatoes are a bold, next-level duo.

On the Phone: Chicken and Ham Club
Lunch today: the grilled chicken club from Montomery Street's low-profile but high-quality Deli & . . . The chicken was coated in some delicious seasoning, topped with ham and swiss, and dressed with Dijon on a delicious wheat roll. The irony is that I originally ordered a veggie sandwich, but they were out of eggplant and roasted red pepper, so I had to make a snap-decision second choice and ended up with double meat instead.

On the Phone: Spinach Avocado Panini
With pepperjack cheese on sourdough at Panini on Haight. Warm and cozy.
On the Phone: After Dentist Delight
My deskmate Annie always gets good lookin' sandwiches from Diller's on Pine, so when I passed it on the way back from the dentist today, I treated myself. However, I needed either toasted bread or less stuff between it!
Lemon pepper chicken, cranberry sauce, avocado, lettuce, tomato, sprouts, and dijon mustard on nine-grain bread. Plus, they give you a pickle, which I really appreciate.
On the Phone: Mini Grilled Cheeses
caramelized onion, apples, and Asian pears.

On the Phone: Chicken, Tapenade, and Fontina
bodied, the bread so fresh.
