I was pleased by my first trip to Chez Carla today, though sadly they were out of my first bread choice, ciabatta. However, this sweet wheat was actally perfect with the smoky salmon, salty capers, and creamy feta. Onions and pesto mayo added a sharp complement.

I will be the first to admit that this sandwich is ridiculous - and ridiculously delicious! Hummus, basil, ham, cheese, cucumber, lettuce, microgreens, and avocado. I made this at the office and it was the highlight of my work week.

I told myself I wouldn't get a sandwich at the movies, because I already ate one today. But the Kabuki Theater's Kalua pork with cabbage and grilled pineapple on a peasant roll looked too good to pass up.

The perfect antidote to girls' night: I finally got to eat the warm egg salad sandwich at Il Cane Rosso. The warmth was suprisingly right, the bread perfect, and the aged provolone divine. The egg salad was too ordinary though, and I wanted to taste the anchovy butter more. Also, open face egg salad isn't the easiest to eat!
